Victoria has a tendency to be a bit wet and miserable at times during winter. The winters are not overly cold anywhere in the country except in the Alps and parts of Tasmania which receive snowfall. As with all locations in the Southern Hemisphere, the occurrence of seasons is the reverse of the US and the Northern Hemisphere. The difference is that the contrast between seasons is not as obvious as it is in countries of the northern hemisphere, although more marked in the southern states.
